Sean Kettle lands New Zealand Surfing Mag Cover

Melting out through the layers of snow that have fallen across the country comes the red hot winter edition of NZ Surf Mag. One peek inside and it becomes obvious that even in the cold months the surf around our coastlines pumps, and while it is nice to head to the tropics at this time of year if you are stuck at home and have some good rubber you can score waves like those featured with barely anyone else around.

We feature heavily some of our top surfers 'First Times', they don't necessarily relate directly to surfing but 'Firsts' are never forgotten moments, whether that be your first, kiss, wave, bike, heartbreak, or night on the turps. The details that are preserved from first moments are preserved in ones self and bring back great laughter, emotion, pride and so on.
The numero uno page is won by Taranaki grom Sean Kettle who also takes his first cover and shares his thoughts behind that.

Waves Of Winter Photospread: With a record breaking summer that merged into Autumn one could be forgiven for thinking Winter would never come, then with an overnight bang she arrived with full force isolating towns with snow dumps and flooding regions, however the surf absolutely pumped and we feature a few of those memorable sessions.
The 78th Primo Roady heads to the East Cape where we find a couple of renegade locals packing heat and aren't out to make new mates.

We catch up with  Ella Williams to talk over her stellar year of competition where she finished fourth at the ISA World Champs in Panama.

We publish a tribute to Adam Strange who was in a freak accident taken away from us by a shark attack at Muriwai Beach earlier this year an incident that rang deep through the surf and beach communities of NZ. RIP Adam!
Plus many more great sequences and insights into the surf happenings across our shores.
