Quik Pro Rounds 4 & 5 wrap-up

Round 4 kicked off three-man heats with Filipe Toledo, Joel Parkinson and Conner Coffin. Toledo kicked off heat 1 with a 9.17 followed by a 9.20 then a 10 - the first of the season. Parko and Coffin were faced with combination situations with only a couple of minutes left on the clock. Toledo goes straight through to the quarterfinals with Parko and Coffin to battle it out in round 5.

Quik Pro Round 3 wrap-up

The waves cleaned up overnight and the surf was pumping in four to five foot conditions with more predictable conditions for the competitors to chase the best scores.

The swell built overnight to three to four foot and kicked off at 7.30am sirening most of the WCT surfers out of the free surf line-up.

Quiksilver Pro Saquarema: Literal Brazilian Storm

Heavy rains and subpar conditions at Praia de Itauna have forced event organizers to call a lay day at the 2015 WSL Quiksilver Pro Saquarema presented by Powerade. The forecast however shows favourable conditions for the remainder of the event window and will provide an exciting competitive atmosphere for the second World Surf League QS 10,000 in 2015.

Round 3, heat 1 kicked off early with Brazilian rookie Italo Ferreira taking on Kelly Slater. After a board swap for Slater the waves didn’t deliver and Ferreira won the heat with 13.00 against 8.77 with the first upset of the day.

#QuikPro: Round 2 wrap-up

After 11 consecutive lay days, Round 2 finally got underway in two to three foot conditions with Mick Fanning against Dane Reynolds in Heat 1. Mick Fanning utilised the knowledge of his home break with the highest score of the heat with a 8.50. In fairly slow conditions, Fanning kept busy and took the heat with 15.50 against Reynolds’ 9.43.

Wiggolly Dantas: The Coolest Name in Surfing

Wiggolly Dantas is not your typical Brazilian surfer. He loves big waves, he surfs with a powerful rail game and is part of the Da hui family. 2015 marks Wiggolly’s maiden year on tour and instead of rolling with the Brazilian pack, he chooses to pave his own path. Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast: Kicking Off The 2015 World Championship Tour

The WSL Championship tour is going to kick off on February 28 at Snapper Rocks on the Gold Coast.

Current world champion, Gabriel Medina took out the first of his three tour wins at last year’s Quiksilver Pro will no doubt be chasing another Snapper victory this year. With only a few weeks to go, the world's 34 top surfers are ready to kick off the 2015 World Championship Tour. Some have spent the past few months charging on the North Shore while others have been shredding their home breaks – and they will bring their progression, innovation and froth to Snapper Rocks.

Euroglass: Shaping Bays And BBQs

One of the best BBQs on tour takes place each year during the Quiksilver Pro France. Just down the road from the contest site is Euroglass, Europe's largest surfboard manufacturer, and home to Quiksilver Surfboards. They not only crank out 1000s of boards a year from Europe's best shapers, but know how to make a crowd happy. Leo Fioravanti gave us a walk through the factory (notice how clean the place is) before the party got wild.

Mick Fanning Wins Fourth Quiksilver Pro France, Solidifies WCT Rankings Lead

Mick Fanning (AUS) 32, has just won the Quiksilver Pro France in an action packed final over Gabriel Medina (BRA) 19, in 3-4Ft (1 metre) waves at the back up venue of Le Penon in Seignosse.

Stop No.8 of 10 on the ASP World Championship Tour, the Quiksilver Pro France juggled with a difficult forecast to showcase the World’s Best surfers in quality waves over the two iconic spots of La Graviere and Le Penon.

Jake Marshall Wins King of The Groms World Final

It’s a tradition now, the Quiksilver King of the Groms final is held during theQuiksilver Pro France and gathers every year, the under 16 world’s best surfers.

This year, the King of the Groms was inaugurating a new digital qualification format. After posting a video featuring their best waves, the kids were selected for the great final in France by a regional jury made of surf industry professionals and public. Finally, 15 groms travelled to France along with 3 wildcards to compete in the 2013 Quiksilver King of the Groms.

After surfing 3 non elimination rounds each, every surfer was ranked by the official ASP judges according to his performances on his 3 best waves. A the end, the top 3 groms were allowed to surf the final today at La Gravière, Hossegor.

Event’s revelation Jake Marshall (USA) defeated the new Asp Junior European Champion Leonardo Fioravanti thanks to a great wave surfed in the dying seconds of the heat and awarded by the final’s highest score – 8,77 points out of 10. Despite surfing strong and scoring the only 10 point ride of the competition, Fioravanti takes the KOTG second place whileKanoa Igarashi places third. Marshall, a 14 years old surfer from Cardiff by the sea in California, becomes the new King of the Groms after Mikey Wright, Gabriel Medina, Jeremy Flores or Aritz Aranburu in the past years.

Day 2 Highlights – Quiksilver Pro France 2013 & King of the Groms

The Quiksilver Pro France re-started this morning in clean 3Ft surf at the back-up location of Le Penon in Seignosse, South-West France. The remaining seven heats of Round 2 were completed in playful rights and lefts for the pleasure of the capacity crowds who witnessed excellent performances from the World’s Best.

Round 1 Highlights – Quiksilver Pro France 2013

The ASP World Title Race resumed this morning on the opening day of the Quiksilver Pro France, with the world’s best surfers taking on clean 3-4Ft A-frames at the back-up location of Seignosse Le Penon.

Event No.8 of 10 on the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour, the Quiksilver Pro France showcases professional surfing’s heroes in some of the best beachbreaks on the planet. With only two more events left this year, both World Title contenders and surfers outside the Top22 consider the Quiksilver Pro France with the utmost importance.
