Quiksilver Pro France Round 4 & 5 wrap up

The Quiksilver Pro and Roxy Pro France, Stop No. 9 on the 2015 Samsung Galaxy World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT), ran in pumping conditions, deciding the men’s and women’s Quarterfinalists at Culs Nus. Huge crowds gathered on the water’s edge to witness an epic day of mind-blowing performances from the world’s best surfers.

The pumping conditions allowed the world's best to rack up some impressive scores with heat winners' scores in the high 8s and above for round 4. As the heats progressed, the scores escalated with world champ, Gabriel Medina, scoring a 19.83 including the first perfect 10 of the event with impressive air-reverse. He backed it up with some impressive hacks that earned him a 9.83. Medina will be up against John John Florence in the quarterfinals.

The first highlight of round 5 was Bede Durbidge whose surfing continued to be on point with a dramatic cutback earning him a 9.33 and a total of 18.30 in heat 2. Owen Wright was up against French local Jeremy Flores in heat 3 and utilised the glassy conditions to dial up his rail-to-rail surfing for a 9.60 score and an 18.50 total. Wright is matched with Adriano de Souza in the quarterfinals.
